How it works

  1. Choose a task. Pick a practice question, or paste your own.
  2. Write and submit. Type or paste your answer, or add a photo of your handwriting.
  3. Fix and re-check. See a band per criterion and your three most important fixes, then check again.

Writing questions

How does Writing assessment work?

You paste your answer or add a photo of it. WritSpeak estimates a band for each of the four Writing criteria, quotes your own sentences when it points out a problem, and gives your three most important fixes.

Can I practise Academic and General Training?

Yes. Task 1 Academic (reports on charts and diagrams), Task 1 General Training (letters) and Task 2 essays are all available.

Do I need to type the question?

Choosing a practice question fills it in for you. If you write to your own question, paste it too: Task Response cannot be judged without it.

What is WritSpeak?

Is WritSpeak an official IELTS assessment?
